Zeer geachte Heer Plesman,
Ik zal zeker gaarne, zoals ik in de vergadering al heb gezegd, aan de beraadslagingen van de V. I. R. O. deelnemen. Ik vond het teleurstellend, dat in de vergadering van de zijde van collega ambtenaren in het geheel niet aan de discussie werd deelgenomen. Maar ik begin meer en meer het belang in te zien van het hebben van een "Hoge Autoriteit" ook op dit gebied.
Tot mijn spijt ben ik de volgende week niet in staat de vergadering van de Raad van Bestuur bij te wonen en evenmin de vergadering van 12 Mei a. s. Beide keren heb ik een spreekbeurt in het buitenland te vervullen. Ik hoop dat wij op andere wijze het zakelijk contact wel zullen houden.

Dear Mr. Plesman,
I will certainly be pleased, as I already said in the meeting, to participate in the deliberations of the V. I. R. O. I found it disappointing that in the meeting there was no participation at all in the discussion from the side of fellow officials. But I am beginning to see more and more the importance of having a "High Authority" in this field as well.
To my regret, I will not be able to attend the meeting of the Board of Directors next week, nor the meeting of May 12th next. On both occasions, I have a speaking engagement to fulfill abroad. I hope that we will maintain business contact in another way.
