Zeer geachte Heer Quik,
Daar ik van Prof. Mahalanobis niets meer hoorde schreef ik hem op 5 Augustus om inlichtingen te verkrijgen omtrent mijn ev. verblijf in India. Zoals U in bijgaand afschrift van het antwoord van Prof. Mahalanobis zult zien komt er dit jaar van de reis niets.

Since I heard nothing more from Prof. Mahalanobis, I wrote to him on August 5 to obtain information regarding my possible stay in India. As you will see in the attached copy of the reply from Prof. Mahalanobis, nothing will come of the trip this year.
