It was a pleasant surprise for me to get your letter of the 10th of July telling me that I was nominated a Member of the Board of the "Associazione per lo sviluppo dell'industria nel Mezzogiorno". The confidence shown has very much encouraged me. I hope I will be able to render some useful services to the solution of a problem which I consider one of the important European problems today. Meanwhile I got the public-ations you promised me, and I am going to study them as soon as possible. You may be sure that I will do my best to make some contribution towards the goal which unites us.
