Zeer geachte Heer Buurma,
Tot mijn spijt ben ik de 14e December al bezet, en zou U willen voorstellen de vergadering op de 21e te bepalen. Als onderwerp stel ik U voor:
De positie van de landbouw in de economische politiek.
De bedoeling zou zijn dat ik op de vraag inga in hoeverre de eigen structuur van de landbouw een afzonderlijke politiek vergt. Hierbij gebruik ik het woord politiek in de zuiver technische zin van het economische beleid met een minimum aan bijgedachten omtrent politieke tegenstellingen tussen partijen e.d. Ik hoop bij een en ander bovendien de kwestie van de vooruitzichten van ons land en van de uitvoer ter sprake te brengen.

Dear Mr. Buurma,
To my regret, I am already occupied on the 14th of December, and would like to suggest scheduling the meeting on the 21st. As a subject, I propose to you:
The position of agriculture in economic policy.
The intention would be for me to address the question of to what extent the specific structure of agriculture requires a separate policy. In this context, I use the word policy in the purely technical sense of economic policy with a minimum of secondary thoughts regarding political conflicts between parties, etc. In addition, I hope to bring up the issue of the prospects of our country and of exports.
