Zeer geachte Heer Greidanus,
Overeenkomstig de afspraak op de Bankraad doe ik U bijgaand de gegevens van het nationale inkomen toekomen voor 1928, 1949 en 1950. In plaats van de indexcijfers van de kosten van levensonderhoud of van de groothandelsprijzen te vermenigvuldigen met de productie per hoofd, is het m.i. eenvoudiger het geldvolume per hoofd te vergelijken met het nationale inkomen per hoofd, waartoe déze gegevens dus kunnen dienen. Ten einde echter te kunnen vasthouden aan chartaal geld en giraal geld vermeldt de bijlage eveneens de productie per hoofd tegen constante prijzen, die U daartoe zoudt behoeven.

Dear Mr. Greidanus,
In accordance with the agreement at the Bank Council, I am sending you the attached data on national income for 1928, 1949, and 1950. Instead of multiplying the index figures for the cost of living or wholesale prices by the production per capita, it is, in my opinion, simpler to compare the money volume per capita with the national income per capita, for which these data can therefore serve. However, in order to be able to stick to cash and bank money, the appendix also mentions the production per capita at constant prices, which you would need for that purpose.
