Dear Professor Strotz,
The article you sent me by your letter of December 16 appears to be of a mathematical-statistical nature. Since I am only superficially acquainted with these subjects I wonder whether you had not better send it to an expert in this field. I could ask, if you want me to do so, my colleague, Mr Hartog at the Rotterdam School of Economics, to referee, but I would not do so without your consent. Please, let me know whether you want me to do so or to send [back] the article back to yourself. For your convenience I may add that the last ten years I concentrated on questions of mathematical-economics rather than mathematical-statistics, and that my duties in this respect were taken over by Mr Hartog.
