Dear Colin,
Thank you very much for yours of February 9 which arrived during my short stay in Berlin and which, therefore, is only answered with a certain delay. I think I have one or two men up to the standard you require, the first among them being Mr J.A. Links, who will be writing directly to you since we did not understand all the details of the job description. Anyhow, I can recommend Mr Links as a thorough worker and a man who is informed about modern statistical methods and accustomed to model building.
If for whatever reason Mr Links would not be available upon closer consideration, I have a younger man, Mr S.L. Louwes, also well informed about modern statistical techniques and very intelligent but somewhat less experienced. I would like to inform him only after your approval, and I don't know whether he will be available as far as his family circumstances are concerned.
