PROF. DR JAN TINBERGEN THE HAGUE, 17 February 1954
Sijzenlaan 41
Professor and Mrs Herman M. Somers,
521 Panmure Road,
Haverford (Pa)
USA
Dear Mr and Mrs Somers,
It is already quite some time ago that we had the most stimulating and pleasant evening at your home. It is one of the fine remembrances of our Haverford time. As I often say to my friends in Holland, my Haverford period was a sort of a cultural vacation in which I found the opportunity because of the presence of so many expert colleagues to make small excursions into various fields around my own field. You very much contributed to this, and also to our high esteem of cultural life at Haverford College. We hope the little book about Rotterdam we sent you some weeks ago will be accepted by you as a modest sign of our gratitude.
With best personal wishes,
yours very sincerely,
