Professor Pagnar Nurkse,
Nuffield College,
Oxford
Dear Niirkse,
It was a great pleasure to get your
letter of Jizne 26. Unfortunately I have no copies
left of my articles in the Review of the Banca Wazionale
del Lavoro. I am sending you, however, a copy of the
Central Economic Plans 1952 and 195^ as well as a recent
article on monetary ciuestions in our reprint series,
I did not know that you were so near and
some of my colleagues and myself are v/ondering wether
ve could not invite you for a lecture. This will depend,
however, on the period you are still available, I wonder
whether you would he kind enough to let me know until
what date approximately you are staying in the United
Kingdom, The cwnplication on our side is that regular
courses have already heen determined, which means that
it is difficult to get the younger students to :;ether. The
older ones who are vorking in the institutes are still
there, however, and it would be primarily of interest
to them. The subject we are thinking of is that of your
last book on Capital Formation in Underdeveloped Countries,
Usually the conditions we can offer are costs of travel
and stay plus ƒ 100,-, hut we may correspond on that
point after v/e have made sure that you are at all
available.
With best regards,
yours very sincerely.
