I

Speaking with Koopmans, Stone and sone others I came
to the conclusion since Stone finds it difficult to organize next
year's annual meeting of the Fconoinetric Society In Cambridge but
was quite willing to do so in 1952, that it rnight be better to have
next-year's rneeting in Belgium. We also thought that it would be
good to have at that tirae in the organization committee yoursexf as
the acting president with our friend Chait and probably some younger
Belgian nenber who could do the organizing work. I onley convey this
suggestion to you since it is not at all my task to occupy myself
with these matters. Chait being a good friend of mine I asked him
already whether he would be prepared to serve on this committee. I
