Dear Victor:
Thank you for jour letter of 18 Octob»*. I
BB of course very pleased to hear that the Fondo
has decided to piblish a translation of the DYNAMICS
CF BOSIÏIFSS CÏCLF5. I do not think there is ai^
need for me to press the Chicago university Press
in this connection.
There la of course something of an oddity
in producing a translation from a translation, not
from the substantive point of view, becaixse I am
sure you would prefer the more recent English text
to the original Dutch text, but from the legal
point of view of translation rights, ks a «atter
of fact the contract with the Chicago University
Press gives to them the translation rights of this
book but I presumettiatthe original translation
rights have been reserved by the Dutch publisher.
In the event - which I do not consider likely that arrangements with the Chicago University
Press should prove difficult, you might al«iys
consider obtaining the translation rights fi-Oi
the Dutch publishers.
With best regards, I an
Sincerely yours.
J. J. Polak
