Dear Mr Hoy»
It seems to me that we know very little a'DOsit
the ways income is distributed over persons as a result
of their participation in the eoonoRiic process, I have
constructed an alastract model producing^ under fairly
strong asaijmptions» an income distribution not too
remote from reality. One version of that model is included.
Your paper on the di striïïutlon of earnings
(Oxford Eoonoï75ic Papers 1951) has helped me to understand the l?Hportance of the correlations between the
distributions of aïdlities over IndlvidL^als» and alao
of different dispersions of various abilities, 3ota
phenomena have "been more or less as6U;^ied -iw&y in ray
model, I can only hope that the coniplications I introduced instead, such as the fact that evei^ occupation
demands several abilities at the sanie time, offer soiae
condensation,
