Dear H o r s t ,
It was a pleasure to have your
letter of January 27, It is correct that
there is a European university named "College
d'Europe" in Belgium; it is in Bruges. The
institute is, however, still a rather small
one; the ntimher of students is only about kO,
Since only part of them are specialized on
economic questions you will understand that
the number of permanent economic teachers is
very restricted. This I only say in order to
make it clear to you that the chances are not
big. Nevertheless I em sending joixr letter
to the rector. Prof. H. Brugraans, because
we are certainly interested in your willlnrrness to come to Europe and you never can tell
what Kappens. At present W. Hoffmann from
Munster is teaching there and incidentally
I am giving myself a few lectures. I shall
let you knov/ if I have more information
about the future of the econcHnic chair.
Both Verdoom and I are very
glad to learn that you made good progress
on the manuscript you promised. We are looking
forward to read it.
With best personal regards,
yours very sincerely.
