I herewith declare that Mr M,van den BERG from South-Africa,
The University of Stellenhosch, is preparing under my guidance
a dissertation on the subject "The Influence of Research on
Economic Policy*'. Mr van den Berg has shown a very good understanding for his subject and has v/orked with great intelligence
and activity. So far his work has mainly heen based on research
and policy in the Netherlands; it is his intention to compare
his findings with developments in the United Kingdom, I hope it
