Knoxville.
Coll'^-ge of Business
Administration.
Dear Professor Clark,
It is very kind of you to give me an opportunity
for commenting on the book review you wrote. In fact, I
have very little comment to make. I am grateful for your
kind review and I perfectly understand the critical remarks
you make. I even think they might form an interesting
starting point for further discussion, be it not immediately
as a consequence of the book review. I am only wondering
whether you should go as far as at the bottom of page 2
(3d line) where you speak about " breaking down dichotomy".
Would not a careful distinction between supply factors and
demand factors still be useful ? Is it not so that certain
supply factors appear also to have importance for the
demand side ? That, if I understand you rightly, is the
point you make. Certainly you would not be opposed against
making sharp distinctions.
As to the two questions on page 5 you put yourself,
T think; your statement in line 6 and 7 is correct. Further,
the work by Girshik shoiK, T think, be classified as
American, but de Wolff is a Dutch author. So he could better
be included in the Puropean group.
Thanking you once more for your kindness,
I am
yours very sincerely
